Virtual Host System

Introduction

NET provides a virtual machine (VM) image for developers.

Please contact you sales for download link.

To run the image use e.g. the free program VirtualBox from Oracle.

Setting up a Virtual Machine using Virtual Box

Execute the next steps to import the VM image to Virtual Box:

  1. Open Oracle VM VirtualBox Manager and click New to create a new virtual machine.

  2. Choose a name for your VM (i.e. ubu18-4-2-nachi), confirm that the type is Linux and the version is Ubuntu (64-bit). Click Next.

  3. Choose the memory size for your machine and click Next.

  4. On the next page select “Use an existing virtual hard disk file” and click to the folder button.

  5. Tipp: Use the Windows explorer to move the downloaded VM-image vm-202.vdi to the VirtualBox VMs directory (C:\Users\xxx\VirtualBox VMs\ubu18-4-2-nachi2).

  6. Click the hard disk selector to add and choose the vm-202.vdi.

  7. Create


Now a new VM with the imported VM-image vm-202.vdi is ready.

Run the VM by clicking the Start button.

Installing Guest Additions

Select Devices→Insert Guest Additions CD image...

Setting up VirtualBox Guest Additions. Guest additions provide additional capabilities to a guest virtual machine, including file sharing.

Now, follow the steps from above sections Synview, SSH Connection or Halcon.
