Introduction

Once you have configure your windows ethernet adapter you can test the settings with ping command:

System Requirements:

In order to view a live stream , for example with synview, you can use the tools listed below.

  • Install putty on your windows machine
    putty will do the ssh-connection to the iam-camera.

  • Install Xming
    Xming will do the graphical interface on windows

  • Install WinSCP
    WinSCP is a program to transfer files from/to the iam camera.

WinSCP - Filetransfer to camera:

WinSCP is a program to transfer files from/to the iam camera: https://winscp.net/eng/docs/lang:de

The configuration of WinSCP should look like follows:

The iam camera asks for a password.

Tip

The password is root.

PuTTY and Xming - Open applications with graphical user interfaces:

Xming

For using X-Server forwarding on need to start the Xming Server first. You should have a link in your windows start menue.

Tip

After launching on should see the Xming Symbol in your task bar.

If you start Xming the first time, you may get asked by the windows firewall to create an exception for Xming.


Configuration of putty:

  • Insert the iam ip address 192.168.1.10 in "Session→Host name"

  • Configure "Connection->SSH→X11" as follows:

If you connect to iam the first time you may get asket the following warning. You need to confirm with "yes".

Start synview:

It is an common sources of error to operate an monochrom sensor in the colour space. If you reviced an monochrome sensor you should change the Pixel Format to Mono 8 .


Please be aware, that you get only a low frame refresh rate with this type of connection.

A better refresh rate will be achieved with the "GigEvision server of synview" in the future.

Start halcon viewer from then test_halcon_samples:

Halcon can be preinstalled to your camera. See Halcon fore more information.

Type into console:
